Overview
The Auxiliary Nurse Course is an entry-level healthcare training programme designed to prepare learners to competently support nurses and other healthcare professionals in the delivery of safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care. The course provides foundational nursing knowledge combined with practical clinical skills required in hospitals, clinics, community health facilities, nursing homes, and home-based care settings.
The programme places strong emphasis on basic nursing care, infection prevention and control, patient safety, communication skills, ethical practice, and professionalism. Learners are trained to assist patients with daily living activities, monitor and record vital signs, maintain hygiene standards, and respond appropriately to basic emergencies within their defined scope of practice.
Through a blended approach of online theoretical learning and supervised clinical attachment, trainees gain real-world exposure to healthcare environments while working under the supervision of registered nurses, clinical officers, or doctors. Upon completion, graduates are equipped with the competence, confidence, and ethical grounding required to function effectively as auxiliary nursing personnel within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
